1. Introduction
Welcome to Triber.net (“Triber,” “we,” or “us”). At Triber, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to connect with others in a meaningful and safe way, with privacy at the core of how people are introduced. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform.
Triber is designed with anonymity and privacy at its core. We minimize data collection, avoid third-party integrations, and empower you to control your information sharing. Our goal is to facilitate meaningful connections while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and security.
By using Triber, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Notice. We are committed to adhering to applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Triber does not share your personal data with third parties. You can request the removal of your personal data at any time, and we will comply with such requests promptly. Our platform is designed with privacy in mind, collecting only the data necessary for providing our services, and offering you full control over your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our services while prioritizing your privacy. We do not sell your data or track you across the internet. All profile information is used only for internal matching and is never shared outside of Triber’s secure environment.
2.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account with Triber, we collect basic account information including an email address, username, and password. Your profile information consists of your skills, interests, and goals for matchmaking purposes, and we specifically design our system so that no personally identifiable information is required.
We store messages exchanged between matched users within the platform to facilitate communication. Additionally, we retain information you provide when contacting our support team to assist with your inquiries.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
We collect anonymous interaction data within Triber to improve our recommendations. Our platform uses minimal cookies solely for authentication and security purposes.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
To protect your privacy, we explicitly do not collect sensitive personal data such as government IDs, financial information, or biometric data. We do not collect location data unless you specifically provide it for matchmaking purposes. Furthermore, we do not collect data from external websites or applications, nor do we connect to social media profiles unless you explicitly choose to share this information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve our services while maintaining your privacy. We do not engage in targeted advertising or share your information with third parties.
3.1 Core Services
Our primary use of your information is to facilitate meaningful connections through our platform. We analyze shared goals, skills, and interests to create relevant matches between users and enable communication between matched individuals. This information also helps us continuously improve our matchmaking algorithms and recommendations. Additionally, we use your information to provide responsive customer support when needed. The data used for matching and communication is processed within Triber only and is not used for any external purposes.
3.2 Security and Protection
Protecting our users is paramount. We utilize your information to prevent fraud and platform abuse, implementing robust security measures to protect accounts against unauthorized access. Our systems continuously monitor for harmful or inappropriate behavior to maintain platform integrity and ensure a safe environment for all users.
3.3 Legal Compliance
We process certain information to meet our regulatory requirements and respond to legal requests when required by law. This includes maintaining necessary records and protecting our legal rights and interests in accordance with applicable regulations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We maintain strict controls over how your information is shared, limiting disclosure to only what is necessary for platform operation and user safety.
4.1 With Other Users
When you accept a match on Triber, we share only your profile information, such as your skills, interests, and goals, with your matched user. Personal identifiers remain private unless you explicitly choose to share them. You maintain full control over what information you include in your profile and messages, allowing you to manage your privacy according to your comfort level. When you share information with matched users, they are bound by Triber’s privacy policies to not misuse this information.
4.2 With Service Providers
We work with carefully selected service providers to maintain and secure our platform. These providers assist us with hosting and maintaining the platform, implementing security measures, and processing support requests. Each service provider is contractually bound to protect your data and comply with stringent privacy regulations. We share only the minimum information necessary for them to perform their designated functions.
4.3 Legal Requirements
There are certain circumstances where we may need to share information to comply with legal obligations. This includes responding to legal processes, protecting user safety or platform security, and investigating potential violations of our terms of service. We carefully review each request to ensure it is legitimate and share only the information necessary to fulfill our legal obligations.
4.4 Business Transfers
In the event that Triber undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will ensure the continued protection of your data. We will notify you of any changes that might affect your information and maintain the same level of privacy protection under any new ownership structure.
5. User Anonymity & Privacy Controls
5.1 Anonymity Features
Triber is fundamentally designed to protect user anonymity. While we do require an email address for account registration, our platform operates without needing real names, photos, or other personal identifiers. This ensures that while we use your email for account management, your identity remains protected. We offer anonymous profile viewing and matching capabilities, maintaining your privacy throughout your use of our service.
5.2 User Controls
We put you in control of your privacy through profile settings. You can precisely manage what information is shared with your matches and adjust visibility settings according to your preferences. Our platform also includes blocking and reporting features.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
6.1 Data Retention Periods
We maintain a clear and specific data retention policy, ensuring your information is kept only as long as necessary. Account information remains active while your account exists, and messages are stored for the account’s duration. Upon deletion, data is permanently removed from our systems, including from automated backups, which are periodically disposed of as part of our secure data management protocol.
6.2 Account Deletion
When you choose to delete your account, we implement a comprehensive removal process. Your profile and personal information are permanently removed from our active systems. All messages are deleted from both parties’ chat histories to ensure complete privacy. Upon account deletion, we ensure all associated data is permanently erased from our active servers, and backup data is secured and scheduled for destruction.
6.3 Data Recovery
Account deletion is designed to be permanent and irreversible. While we maintain minimal backup copies for system integrity purposes for up to 90 days, these backups are fully encrypted and subsequently destroyed. This limited retention period for backups helps us maintain system stability while ensuring your privacy rights are protected.
7. Security Measures
7.1 Technical Security
We employ robust security measures to safeguard your information. All data transmission is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. Our commitment to your data’s security includes ongoing vigilance to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
7.2 Operational Security
Security is integral to our operations. We undergo regular security training to ensure proper data protection practices are implemented. Access to systems is controlled through strict authentication procedures.
7.3 Data Protection
We prioritize data protection by collecting only the information necessary for our service. We perform regular backups to ensure data integrity, focusing on minimizing data exposure.
8. User Rights & Choices
8.1 Your Rights
You have rights regarding your personal information under applicable privacy laws. You can access your personal data on your profile page. For corrections or to request account deletion, please contact our support team.
8.2 Exercising Your Rights
We have designed our platform to make exercising your privacy rights straightforward and accessible. You can manage most privacy settings directly through your account interface. For more complex requests, our privacy team is available to provide assistance, and we commit to responding to all privacy-related requests within 30 days. We ensure that exercising your privacy rights will never result in discriminatory treatment.
8.3 Verification
To protect your privacy and security, we verify your identity before processing any privacy-related requests. While we strive to make this process as simple as possible, additional verification steps may be required for certain sensitive operations. We provide these verification services at no charge to ensure all users can freely exercise their privacy rights.
9. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
9.1 Cookie Usage
Our platform uses cookies solely for essential functionality. These cookies enable basic features such as authentication, session management, and platform preferences. We explicitly avoid using any advertising or tracking cookies to maintain your privacy. Each cookie serves a specific, necessary purpose for platform operation.
9.2 Analytics Approach
Our analytics practices focus on platform functionality rather than user tracking. We collect anonymous usage statistics solely to monitor and improve platform performance. All analytics data is processed without personal identification markers, and we maintain a strict policy against cross-site tracking to protect your privacy. Our analytics focus on improving service delivery and do not involve tracking individual user behavior across different sites or sessions.
9.3 Third-Party Tools
We use minimal third-party tools to support our platform, focusing on privacy and ensuring user confidentiality by limiting external tracking mechanisms.
10. Third-Party Links & External Content
Triber is designed to be self-contained, primarily to protect your privacy by minimizing external connections.
10.1 External Links
Occasionally, our support documentation, help articles, or platform notifications might direct users to external websites for additional resources, updates, or legal notices. These links are clearly marked to distinguish them from our internal content. We do not control these external sites, nor are we responsible for their privacy practices. We strongly recommend that you read the privacy policies of any external sites before providing any personal information.
The primary purpose of including external links is to offer comprehensive assistance or to comply with legal requirements that necessitate directing users to government or regulatory websites. However, we ensure these links are used sparingly and only when necessary for user support or legal compliance.
10.2 Content Security
To maintain the security and privacy of our users, Triber does not incorporate or embed content from third-party sources. This includes the avoidance of external scripts, trackers, social media widgets, or plugins that could compromise user data security. We also refrain from connecting to advertisement networks, ensuring that your experience on Triber remains ad-free and your information is not shared for advertising purposes.
Our platform’s design focuses on user interaction within a controlled environment, where all content and functionality are managed internally to maintain integrity and privacy.
10.3 User Guidance
We guide our users to be cautious when dealing with any links shared within the platform. Here are some best practices:
- Always scrutinize links before clicking, especially if they appear unexpectedly from other users.
- Do not share personal or sensitive information via links leading outside of Triber unless you trust the source.
